I had no idea this was going to be as hard as it was - making a sphere is TOUGH!
First I made a sphere out of 4 hula hoops & tried to cover it with cloth - but the cloth sagged too much - so then I added hoop skirt rings (like on a japanese lantern) which helped a lot..... (BTW: if anybody has a better way of making a sphere - PLEASE let me know - I have some other ideas for spherical Halloween costumes but I'd like an easier time of it...)
Then I had to sew (eeeeeeeek) the covering which was a learning experience...
Finally I cut holes for me and the cards I used for the answers. I covered the answer-hole with blue plastic & rigged up some really cool electro-luminescent wire (think cheap, light, neon) to add oomph & voila.
Oh I also cut out triangle shaped cards to have the actual sayings (I used the real sayings from a real Magic Eight Ball)
for all my whining about difficulty - it really was fun though... |
